Caring for the Homeless of Peekskill, Inc. (CHOP) seeks to alleviate hunger and homelessness in the Peekskill community by providing food and shelter to persons in need.
With the help of our volunteers, we run the highly successful programs, Jan Peek House, Sunny Donut Free Breakfast Program, and Fred’s Pantry. Participants in these programs come from diverse backgrounds, but they are united in their determination to lead fulfilling lives. Many have found jobs and are already giving back to their community. In fact, the artwork featured on the homepage was made by former residents of Jan Peek House.
CHOP is Part of Your Community
We work closely with local community agencies to ensure that the needs our residents are met. CHOP is affiliated with the Peekskill Area Pastor’s Association (PAPA), Peekskill Agencies Together (PAT), and the Peekskill City School District’s Caring Community. We partner with the Montrose VA Hospital’s homeless veteran’s outreach program as well as the Peekskill Police Department’s Inmate Re-entry Initiative. We are also members of the Hudson River Gateway Chamber of Commerce and are affiliated with the Peekskill Rotary Club.
We take great pride in providing service to the Peekskill area. Please take the time to learn more about our history and our programs.
